This little recipe takes me way back to my drama school days. I needed cheap snacks because you know, student life. I wanted healthy and something that would keep my energy up for a full day of training.
Why did I pick only two ingredients? Well because oats are; incredibly nutritious, a good source of carbs and fiber, they contain antioxidants, proteins, vitamins, and minerals. All in all, this food is da bomb! Bananas; again a healthy source of fiber, packed with potassium, vitamin B6, vitamin C, and lots of antioxidants. Two great ingredients and super accessible at most shops.
Right then people, let’s get down to it. I’m all about the simple and I’m all about the easy. This should take you no longer than 5 minutes and will serve up to 8 oat balls. I realise as well that most people freak out about the microwave, but I love it! Don’t freak out, it’s going to help you create these tasty balls.

Ingredients;
100 grams or 5 heaped tbsp of oats
Half a banana
Drizzle of sweetener (I used agave)
Optional; 1 scoop of protein powder (if you don’t used protein powder add 1 more tbsp of oats)
Topping; 4 squares of dark chocolate
Method;
1) Add the oats, protein powder and mashed banana to a bowl and combine.
2) Drizzle on your sweetener of choice.
3) Grab a bowl of water to stop the mixture from sticking to your hands.
4) Form small balls and place on a microwaveable plate.
5) Microwave for 1 minute or until the balls have hardened.
6) Set the oats balls to the side too cool whilst you melt the chocolate.
7) Drizzle oats balls with the melted chocolate
8) Stuff your face!
See, super simple, super easy, super tasty. I’d love to see your creations, tag me and let me know if you enjoyed them.
