How are we already on part 4 already?! It’s like the saying, time fly’s when you’re having fun! After day 3 I was thankful for this nice and easy way from Inverarnan to Tyndrum. As we began our day, we had to get the midges nets out. I think this was purely because it was warm and wet, the perfect climate for these little biting bugs.
Thankfully once we made our way out of the campsite the midges disappeared. As much as I was grateful for having the net, I glad we didn’t have to wear them much because they are hard too see through and it gets pretty warm in there!
This walk consisted of open scenery, woodland terrain, and a few sneaky scottish hills chucked in there, but overall an easy day. In terms of wildlife you will come across a few sheep a long the way and maybe even an odd cow or two, but nothing too exciting.
The way doesn’t consist of much road walking, but you will have to cross some busy roads on day 4. Make sure you’re careful when doing this as these roads are country roads meaning, cars come around the corner at some speed.
If you’re a water baby then, today will be a good day for you. You will pass by many streams, rivers and waterfalls. What I love about The West Highland Way is that, each day is completely different. Some days consist of open fields and others high trees and woodland walks.
When you arrive to Tydrum you will find the famous Green Welly Shop. Unfortunately because of COVID, the shop wasn’t open so i’m afraid I can’t give me review on this place, but what I will say is Tydrum is the best place to stock up on any plasters or snacks you may need. As you get more into the Highlands you will struggle to find many shops for things like this.
Let’s do a round up of the day; easy and chilled, a day packed full of rivers and streams, arriving in the small village of Tydrum where you can find The Green Welly Shop.
Head over to my Youtube channel to check out the full video of the day. Thank you, as always for reading my blog, watching my youtube videos and supporting me. I love showing and sharing my trips, and i’m so glad I can take you with me.
Always wandering,
Danielle x
